Earlier today, we covered claims from the Portuguese media which said Everton have an agreement with Sporting for the transfer of Youssef Chermiti.
It was claimed the clubs found a deal for €15m, plus performance goals, with the Lions having 10% of a future move.
It turns out that as Portuguese newspaper Record now shares their own story on the transfer, they claim that there are still details to be sorted between all parties.
First of all, it’s claimed that even though Everton are only wanting to let Sporting stay with 10% of the future transfer, the Lions are still fighting to keep 20%.
Chermiti is said to be ‘waiting for blue light’, which is clearly a joke about the Toffees’ colours, to travel to Liverpool.
He’s only set to get that authorisation once the final details are sorted, and that ‘includes’ his contract, which is apparently not ready yet.
So it seems clear that Everton and Sporting are in advanced negotiations for the transfer, but the Lions are apparently making a final push to get the most out of the sale, all the while the last touches are being applied to the personal terms the player would be agreeing to at Goodison Park.
