KRC Genk defender Daniel Muñoz is set to leave the club and join Crystal Palace after being told he has permission to travel to London for a medical.

That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who say the Belgian side have finally struck an agreement with Crystal Palace on a deal worth €10m including bonuses.

Palace have been chasing Muñoz for much of this month but only slowly gotten towards Genk’s asking price for him.

Their initial bid of €6m was quickly rejected before being followed up by an offer worth €8m plus €2m in bonuses to get closer to Genk’s initial and steadfast €10m demand for the player.

A report earlier today indicated a deal was probably going to happen at some point and Tavolieri now reports that it is on the way.

According to him officials at Genk have reached an agreement with Crystal Palace on a €10m deal including bonuses and have communicated to the Colombian that he is free to travel to London to undergo medical tests.

Once those are completed, he will sign a deal with the Eagles until 2028 and become their first signing of the January transfer window.
