Earlier on Tuesday we covered one of a raft of articles from France which stated Everton were moving forward with an effort to sign Orel Mangala.
The midfielder hasn’t had the huge impact that was expected of him since he joined Lyon from Nottingham Forest, but it’s not too wild to say a lot of the expectation was over the top.
He’s now got a chance to return to English football and impress once again, and Florian Plettenberg has taken up the transfer claims.
There’s a complete verbal agreement on the transfer, and Mangala will be moving to Goodison Park on loan for the rest of the season.
As part of that loan agreement, Everton will have a chance to move for the permanent transfer transfer at the end of the season for €40m.
That obviously sounds a huge amount and there’s likely to be negotiation even if a stay is desired.
The 26-year-old moved to Lyon initially on a loan deal, which turned into a permanent transfer in a deal worth around €30m in total.
