Pierluigi Gollini has emerged as a target for Tottenham Hotspur and Sky Italia reported on Monday the north London club are working to ‘seek total agreement’ to sign the Atalanta goalkeeper.
Another report from the same outlet states Spurs are close to securing the 26-year-old’s signature on a free loan deal.
As part of the agreement, there is a right of redemption option, which is to be made mandatory if the custodian makes a certain number of appearances.
The fee set to make the transfer permanent is €15m and there’s also an option to extend the loan stay for one more season by paying an additional €2m to the Serie A side.
Gollini’s signing was ‘strongly desired’ by Fabio Paratici and Sky Italia state he’s now ‘close to moving to Tottenham’.
Calciomercato are also reporting the keeper is ‘one step away’ from joining Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.
Atalanta have decided to bet on new signing Juan Musso as their first-choice goalkeeper next season, which is why Gollini will be allowed to leave this summer
Like Sky, Calciomercato explain the former Aston Villa man will join Tottenham on a loan deal ‘with the right of redemption that can become an obligation under certain conditions’.
The temporary deal can be converted into a permanent transfer for €15m [€13m fixed fee plus €2m in bonuses].
