Earlier on Thursday, it was reported in England that Djordje Petrovic was close to signing for Chelsea and was going to undergo his medical.
Well, the goalkeeper, who will be acting as backup to Robert Sanchez after Kepa Arrizabalaga was sent on loan to Real Madrid, has passed with flying colours.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who provide an update on the goalkeeper’s move to Chelsea, and hint the official announcement is right around the corner.
They state the Blues are ready to welcome the player after agreeing to pay a fee of €16m to get him from New England Revolution in the MLS.
Petrovic has ‘passed his medical’, but the French outlet add he will have to wait a bit longer before Mauricio Pochettino can make any use of him.
This is due to the fact that the 23-year-old is currently having to be patient when it comes to getting his work visa in order to step onto the pitch for Chelsea.
That shouldn’t be an issue, or at least Foot Mercato don’t point out that it should be, so it’s just a waiting game for now.
