Arsenal and Lazio could exchange documents on the deal for Nuno Tavares by tomorrow and get the loan deal over the line.
That’s according to Sport Italia and Calciomercato.it, who both say the deal for the defender is now in the final stages.
The former reports, via journalist Alfredo Pedullà, that “Lazio and Arsenal will exchange documents by tomorrow” on the player, whose move has progressed rapidly this week.
CM.it provide more information on the matter, reporting that the defender ‘is now arriving’ at the Italian club.
They explain that a deal is now so close to being completed that Lazio sporting director Angelo Mariano Fabiani commented on the matter yesterday in a press conference, stating that “we have found an agreement for Tavares, I am more than confident, and I am not saying that he is ours just out of good luck.”
The website can back that up with their own information, reporting that the Arsenal man is ‘one step away’ from completing his move and the two clubs are ‘finalising what are truly the final details’.
There is a growing confidence that the operation, barring any sensational last-minute twists, is ready and will be finalised in the next few days if not the next few hours.
Spanish side Real Betis had tried to push themselves into the matter, but Lazio were out in front and have used that to their advantage to strike an agreement with Arsenal push the deal to the brink of completion.
