The front page of Saturday’s Corriere della Sera Bergamo edition has Christian Eriksen and Papu Gomez on the cover. There’s a story building about a potential swap between the two players, and it would obviously be a huge deal in Bergamo.

Gomez would move to Inter on a dry loan for the rest of the season, and Eriksen would go to Atalanta on a similar deal. Given the Denmark international earns far more than the Argentine, a compromise would have to be reached on salary.

Of course, Eriksen left Tottenham thinking he was going on to bigger and better things, and Atalanta doesn’t seem in that bracket. However, the newspaper states the player has no offers ‘apart from West Ham’.

David Moyes’ side are said to want Eriksen on loan, yet it’s just brushed aside by Corriere della Sera as if West Ham just isn’t an option. That may be too hasty.

The Hammers are eighth in the Premier League, with Moyes insisting it’s a big club that he’s slowly turning towards success.

Should it be a straight choice between West Ham and Atalanta, and others such as Ajax and Tottenham don’t get involved, then there’s a reasonable chance the London club will become more attractive.
