Earlier on Tuesday, we covered a big claim in Turkey that Manchester United had made a €7m + bonuses bid for Altay Bayindir.
The news wasn’t a huge shock for those who have followed the Red Devils’ transfer rumour mill, since the club have been linked with the Fenerbahçe goalkeeper a number of times this summer already.
However, what is interesting is that, according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the player has already travelled to hold some talks.
This all comes amid the claim that Manchester United have made a bid for him, and while we don’t want to add two and two and come out with five, it’s interesting to say the least.
Sabuncuoğlu revealed this morning that Bayindir and his agent ‘have left Istanbul’ and Fenerbahçe allowed their goalkeeper to ‘participate in transfer negotiations’.
Whether that’s with Manchester United isn’t said, but the journalist did add in another post on Twitter that the player ‘flew to Athens’, which was chosen as the ‘common point for the transfer negotiation’.
We’ll have to wait and see if that has anything to do with the Red Devils, and we will be keeping an eye on it, but this all happened around the same time news of the €7m + bonuses bid broke.
