After signing for Nottingham Forest, Greek goalkeeper Stefanos Kapino has made an emotional farewell to Olympiacos on his Instagram account.
Kapino joined Aitor Karanka’s side last week, and watched Nottingham Forest’s loss to Hull City at the weekend.
The highly rated Greek goalkeeper was almost kicked out of the club following a reported long term dispute with coaching staff and players, but was still complimentary to his former club.
Kapino said on his farewell post to Olympiacos: “It’s a new chapter in my career but I wish the very best for Olympiacos. Every good thing needs to come to an end, and this is what happens right now. I want to thank all of the members of the team for their contribution to my career.”
“I want to thank the fans for their part also. They have been brilliant since day one. I hope the team returns to where they belong very soon.”
His arrival should come as a boost to Karanka, and the Greece international will be ready to compete with Costel Pantilimon for No.1 spot at Nottingham Forest.
The 23 year old was linked with a move to Newcastle United in the last transfer window.
