Tottenham Hotspur will face Barcelona in a friendly today and this will give the two clubs an opportunity to discuss a deal for Clément Lenglet. This was reported in the Catalan media on Monday.

It’s again relayed by today’s Mundo Deportivo, who then add Juventus have joined Tottenham in the chase for the 28-year-old.

Lenglet was on loan at Spurs last season and his desire is to return to the north London club.

Despite this, the report says Barca could look for alternatives if they fail to agree a deal with Ange Postecoglou’s side.

After Napoli’s interest, claims elsewhere have talked about Juve’s interest. Mundo relay this and then give their own take on this case.

It’s said the Turin club would be willing to take the centre-back on loan with a purchase option. The Catalan club insist on selling the Frenchman but their main concern is to save his salary ‘at all costs’, which is needed to carry out other incoming operations.

Tottenham and Barca ‘hope to exchange talks’ today to agree a deal for the defender, who is keen to join the English club.

Spurs have reportedly made an offer of €5m plus €5m bonuses, and this doesn’t seem to satisfy Barca. Mundo further add the Spanish giants are worried because Tottenham are ‘stalling’.

Either way, the report says Lenglet ‘faces decisive days to define his future’.

Over at La Vanguardia, they say the player is ‘looking for new proposals’ after rejecting an offer from Saudi Arabia. Whether that’ll be come form Tottenham, Juve or another club remains to be seen.
