On January 19th, Milliyet reported Rangers’ Rıdvan Yılmaz had asked Philippe Clement & co. to let him leave Ibrox in the winter market.
Galatasaray are keen on signing the left-back and two days ago, journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu stated they are in talks with Rangers. Later that day, Philippe Clement started the 22-year-old against Hibernian and he got his name on the scoresheet.
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has requested a new left-back. Fotomaç have a report on the Rangers player and their title says ‘Okan Buruk convinced Rıdvan Yılmaz’.
Within the report, it’s said Angeliño, who’s on loan from RB Leipzig, is expected to leave Galatasaray and their plan is to replace him with the Turkey international. Therefore, the Istanbul club have the Rangers man on top of their target list for the winter market.
Yılmaz has held talks with Buruk on phone, after which he was ‘positive’ about joining his side. The report adds he wants to leave Rangers on a loan deal and wants Philippe Clement’s to facilitate that on Galatasaray’s terms.
His request is unlikely to be accepted by Rangers, considering Philippe Clement had earlier stated that the right offer is needed for Yılmaz to leave Ibrox.
