Brighton are no strangers to signing lesser known players from across Europe, and they are now looking at another player of that kind to bolster their backline.
The man in question is 21-year-old Hellas Verona defender Diego Coppola.
LaLazioSiamoNoi report the Italian has ended up in Brighton’s ‘sights’ for a summer transfer but the Seagulls’ chase will not be easy.
That is because Lazio are also moving for the centre-back, who has impressed in Serie A for Verona this season. The report states he’s had a ‘super season’ and that is attracting attention.
The Rome club are looking to provide stiff competition to Brighton and already made contact for him in January. They also tried to land him last summer and will move for him again in the next few months.
Coppola is currently valued at around €10m and that is the fee that Fabian Hurzeler’s side will have to shell out in the summer.
Considering Brighton’s financial capacity, that doesn’t sound like a barrier to them.
