Earlier this week, we relayed claims made in Italy that Juventus will face competition from Arsenal and Newcastle United to sign Iván Fresneda in the winter market.

Tutto Juve now explain the Serie A side were the first team to concretely express their interest in the Real Valladolid player.

The Old Lady have been joined by Arsenal, Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and others in chasing the right-back. He is ‘highly coveted’ by these clubs.

Juventus, however, are not giving up and are still in the running to secure the 18-year-old’s services.

However, it will be a difficult operation for the Turin club to carry out as Mikel Arteta’s side and the Magpies can be ‘more convincing’ with the La Liga club from the financial point of view.

Fresneda’s asking price corresponds to his €30m release clause in his contract. The clause will be raised to €45m after he makes 22 appearances. So far, he has featured 11 times this season.

Despite Juve’s insistence and the player being ‘highly coveted’ by Arsenal, Newcastle and others, the report adds there will be no news of the potential deal until next week.
