Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer window but a deal never materialised.
The 25-year-old centre-back continues to be reported as a target for the north London club and they also have their eyes set on his teammates, Sacha Boey and Kerem Aktürkoğlu.
According to Star Gazetesi, Tottenham are ‘interested in three stars of Galatasaray’ and will knock on their door for the trio in January.
Galatasaray have enjoyed a good start to the season and this has seen some of their players draw attention from other clubs. Spurs are one among them and have identified Nelsson, the right-back and the winger as targets.
It’s claimed Ange Postecoglou has instructed the Tottenham scouts to keep a close eye on the two defenders and the 25-year-old Turkey international.
That’s because Star Gazetesi say the manager is trying to strengthen the squad by adding the three players to his side in January.
Among the trio, the report claims Nelsson is the ‘first target’ while Tottenham also have keen interest in both Aktürkoğlu and Boey.
Last month, Spurs allowed Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombélé to join Galatasaray, and these deals have seen the two clubs develop a good relationship. The outlet suggests this may help Tottenham in potential deals for Nelsson, Boey and Aktürkoğlu in the winter market.
Star’s title says Galatasaray’s ‘coffers will be overflowing’ but there isn’t anything within the report mentioning the fee Tottenham could offer.
Signing three players from one club would certainly be unusual, and it’s fair to say the Turkish sport media can be excitable, but that link building with Galatasaray could provide Tottenham with a route to reasonably priced deals.
