Tottenham striker Richarlison has admitted he knows he wasn’t good enough for Brazil in this international break and has to improve in future.
UOL cover comments from the Tottenham striker today after he returned but failed to impress for Brazil in games against Ecuador and Paraguay.
The Tottenham forward was back in the international picture for Carlos Ancelotti’s first games as Brazil manager this month.
The pair know each other well after working together during Ancelotti’s time in charge at Everton, where the striker was a key player under the Italian during his short reign on Merseyside.
Sadly, it didn’t prove to be a happy return to the international scene for the Tottenham man as he was rated 1.16 by national team fans for the 0-0 draw with Ecuador. That was the worst on the entire team.
That game saw him extend his goalless run with Brazil that stretches back to the 2022 World Cup, a run which has now been extended with a goalless display against Paraguay as well. He knows that’s not good enough and vowed to improve moving forwards.
“I’m very happy to be back,” he said.
“I didn’t do well, but I’m going to try to improve. I know the weight of wearing this shirt. You have to give your all on the field. I’m going to go back to the club and work hard to do my best again.”
