For months, we have repeatedly relayed claims made in Spain and France that Jürgen Klopp maintains regular contact with Kylian Mbappé and the Paris Saint-Germain star is a long-term target for Liverpool.

The forward has a year left on his contract and has so far not signed an extension with the Ligue 1 side.

As recently as last week, Le Parisien stated the 22-year-old ‘sees himself’ playing for the Reds and Real Madrid, ‘partly for the myth they embody’.

It was also explained Mbappé is ready to sign an extension until 2023, if PSG give assurances he will be allowed to leave in 2022.

Another report from Le Parisien now claims certain ‘little evils’ could push the France international towards the exit door, even though Nasser Al-Khelaifi has insisted he will still be at the club next campaign.

The former AS Monaco man has made it clear to PSG there must be an ambitious sporting project for him to continue. Suitors are not lacking for him.

It’s claimed the World Cup winner is ‘courted’ by big European clubs and that includes Liverpool and Real Madrid. Mbappé is in a ‘position of strength’ due to the time left on his contract.

PSG failed to win the title and lost to Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final.

Le Parisien state Mauricio Pochettino’s side ‘doesn’t have much time left to redesign the roster and present Mbappé with the guarantees he’s been looking for from the beginning’.

If they don’t assure the attacker with an ambitious sporting project, Mbappé could ‘bid farewell’ to the Paris club, and this would come as encouragement for suitors like Liverpool.
