Rennes striker Serhou Guirassy is ‘close to Everton’ and a deal could be finalised in the coming days.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who provide a short update on the striker’s potential move to Goodison Park today.
Guirassy has been linked with a move to Everton throughout this week, with the Toffees keen to add a forward to their squad after losing Dominic Calvert-Lewin to a knee injury.
That’s left them short up front, particularly after selling Richarlison earlier this summer, and they’ve been linked with several strikers as a result.
Guirassy is one of them and a report from France yesterday stated he was ‘getting closer’ to finalising a move to Merseyside.
L’Equipe follow that up today and state that after the arrival of Arnaud Kalimuendo, Guirassy is further out of the picture at Rennes.
He’s been left out of the squad for the clash with Monaco today and ‘could leave in the coming days’.
According to their information, he is ‘close to Everton’, although there is no mention of the deal that would take him to the Toffees.
They were initially reported to be chasing a loan deal, while Rennes wanted a permanent exit, so we’ll have to wait for those details to emerge.
As far as L’Equipe are concerned, though, this deal could be done sooner rather than later.
