Palmeiras forward Raphael Veiga has ‘been approached’ by Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to GOAL Brazil, who say that the 27-year-old is managing proposals to leave the Brazilian club once the European transfer window opens again.
They explain that Veiga has ‘received enquiries’ from clubs in Spain and Italy, who are keen on taking him from Palmeiras after his performances there in recent years.
They, though, face competition from the Premier League and Wolves are one of a quartet of clubs in England eyeing him up.
Indeed they have been in touch about a potential move to Molineux ‘recently’, although there has been no official offer to take him from the Academia de Futebol.
However, GOAL have learned that ‘it is possible’ for the player to leave, although those in charge at Palmeiras have not set a price on the midfielder. Instead, the board ‘awaits a convincing proposal’ before discussing an exit.
They currently own 85% of the economic rights of the player, who has a contract until December 31st 2026. The player owns the other 15% of his rights but his agent, André Cury, has an ‘exclusivity letter’ to receive a percentage in case he does move.
It is, therefore, up to Wolves to work out a deal that suits all parties. They are yet to make a firm offer but their interest is longstanding.
They were first linked last month when it was stated he ‘will leave’ for Molineux and several reports since then have continued to put them in the mix, although they now seemingly face competition from Italy and Spain.
