Earlier this month, A Spor reported Tottenham Hotspur are one of the clubs to have sent scouts to closely watch Beşiktaş’ Semih Kılıçsoy.
The forward has managed seven goals and an assist from his last eight league games and that recent form has seen several clubs take notice.
Türkiye Gazetesi state Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund are in the picture to sign the player, and they add the 18-year-old is ‘already sought after’ by these two clubs.
Last month, Kılıçsoy signed a deal until 2028 but Beşiktaş board member Feyyaz Uçar has revealed that it will be difficult to retain him for a long time.
He’s expected to be transferred to one of the top European clubs after this season. It’s said the Turkey U19 international is ‘ready to fly away’ and the Black Eagles are ready to evaluate offers in the summer.
Two years ago, Beşiktaş rejected Manchester City’s €23m offer for Abdülkadir Ömür, who was sold to Hull City for €2.5m on deadline day. Türkiye Gazetesi state the Turkish club want to avoid such a scenario with Kılıçsoy.
The report claims Beşiktaş are expecting a fee around €50m, which is obviously unrealistic and is likely a starting point in negotiations with Tottenham and others.
Kılıçsoy has been taking English lessons from a private teacher, and this suggests he favours a move to the Premier League. This is backed up by Fanatik, when explaining Spurs’ interest in him.
