Last week, L’Equipe stated Paris Saint-Germain have identified Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva as their main target for the summer. It was also reported the Ligue 1 winners have long been trying to lure him, and that ‘the interest is mutual’.

Téléfoot took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to explain the French club’s transfer plan for the next window.

Luis Enrique’s side want to focus on young French talents and are also working on signing experienced world-class players. The Manchester City star fits into the latter category, along with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

PSG advisor Luis Campos knows the 29-year-old well from their time at AS Monaco, and seems to be the one leading the Paris club’s pursuit of Silva.

Téléfoot, through another post, claim the Portugal international had ‘already agreed to join’ PSG last summer, before he was retained by Pep Guardiola. Silva signed a new deal at the Etihad last August and it reportedly includes a €60m release clause.

The player continues to be on PSG’s target list and they could sign him by activating the clause. Téléfoot state this is ‘another track studied’ by the French club, who are working on bolstering their squad with quality players.

Silva has eight goals and four assists from 30 games for Manchester City this season.
