Leeds United were unsuccessful with efforts to sign Beşiktaş’ Milot Rashica, according to a report from Turkey.

Last summer, the winger joined the Black Eagles from Norwich City and he’s enjoyed a good debut season so far, managing four goals and four assists from 26 games.

The Kosovo international’s performances had attracted interest from other clubs, including Leeds. That’s according to Takvim, who state the Whites tried taking the 27-year-old to Elland Road.

It’s claimed Leeds ‘recently made an official offer’ to the Turkish club for the versatile player. The report adds Daniel Farke’s side had proposed €7m but it wasn’t entertained by Beşiktaş.

Takvim don’t specifically mention when the Championship side tabled an offer but since they claim it was offered recently, it sounds like the winter market.

They explain that the former Canaries man and the Istanbul club weren’t keen on parting ways, and therefore, both ‘rejected’ Leeds’ proposal. The Kosovan, who’s current deal lasts until 2027, is happy at Beşiktaş, and isn’t looking for a transfer.

Rashica wasn’t able to impress at Norwich during the 2021/23 season, scoring two goals and registering two assists from 35 games. He was loaned out to Galatasaray last season.
