Ruben Amorim arrived at Manchester United in November and initially chose Casemiro in midfield in his first two league games.

The Brazilian then lost his place to Manuel Ugarte and returned to the starting line up against Newcastle United on Monday due to Ugarte’s suspension.

Since the 32-year-old isn’t a regular under Amorim, it’s claimed he’s decided to leave Manchester United in the winter market.

That’s according to UOL, and their title says Casemiro ‘agrees to leave’ the Red Devils. He could be on his way to Saudi Arabia, where clubs have already shown interest in the past.

The report states the Public Investment Fund, who own multiple clubs, are ‘determined’ to sign the former Real Madrid man and place him at one of the clubs they own. They have stakes at Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, Al-Ettifaq and Al-Qadisiyah.

Casemiro’s desire to leave Manchester United would favour the Saudi group to accelerate their efforts to sign him in January. His deal lasts until 2026, but UOL claim there should be ‘no major obstacles’, likely from Amorim’s side, for his departure.

Manchester United could try to recover part of the fee they invested to buy Casemiro, and his exit would also help them lighten their wage bill.
