Arsenal reportedly showed serious interest in RB Leipzig star Benjamin Šeško last summer but weren’t able to secure his services.

The striker ended the speculation by signing a new contract [until 2029] in June, but that hasn’t stopped the Gunners from chasing him.

In October, journalist Sten Hornig stated Arsenal want to get serious for the 21-year-old. Fast forward to February and today’s edition of Bild covers the north London club’s interest in Šeško.

The Slovenia international managed 15 goals and four assists from 30 games this season and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. The newspaper states several top clubs are keeping an eye on him, including Mikel Arteta’s side.

Bild point out AC Milan wanted him last summer but are unlikely to return for him after buying Santiago Giménez earlier this month.

They name Arsenal and Manchester United as his suitors from the Premier League but state the Gunners are ‘particularly interested’ in the Leipzig frontman.

Šeško doesn’t have a written release clause in his contract, but Leipzig are said to assured his camp they’ll let him leave for a price starting at €70m.

The report claims the fee of over €70m is ‘piece of cake’ for the likes of Arsenal and the Red Devils. The competition may increase if Šeško were to impress in the coming months.
