Having spent the second half of last season on loan at AS Roma, Leeds United have allowed Diego Llorente to return to the Serie A side on another temporary deal.
The centre-back has started training under José Mourinho’s orders and even featured in their friendly win over Boreale.
After this tie, the Leeds owned player spoke to reporters on various topics, and La Roma 24 have relayed his comments. The 29-year-old Spaniard insisted he didn’t consider any other option apart from the Serie A side in this window.
When asked if he’s happy to be back at Roma, he said: “I immediately felt very loved here, I wanted to come back and for me it was the only option. I wanted to do a full season here.”
The Giallorossi are also keen on signing Leeds’ Rasmus Kristensen on a dry loan deal in this window. Last week, claims from Italy had stated the right-back had made a trip to Italy to undergo medical tests before completing a move to Roma.
On the 26-year-old Denmark international’s arrival at Roma, Llorente explained: “He’s a great signing, he’s a complete player who can help us both defensively and offensively.”
Both Llorente and Kristensen decided to make a move away from Leeds after they were relegated from the Premier League last season.
