Manchester United could be on the verge of trying to beat Chelsea to the signing of Boca Juniors star Aaron Anselmino.
Today, we get to see a couple of reports from Argentina talking about that. One of them comes from newspaper Olé.
They claim that following Chelsea’s offer, which is worth US$18m, Manchester United are set to come for the signing.
It’s said that the Red Devils sent scouts to watch Anselmino earlier this year, and with the Blues making the first move, there could be an attempt from the Red Devils now.
Meanwhile, according to TyC Sports, Boca Juniors understand there’s a ‘concrete chance’ Manchester United will show up with their offer soon. Indeed, it’s reported Boca ‘expect an offer’ from them.
Ole reports Chelsea were the first to move, and their offer indeed ‘seems irresistible’, but Boca will obviously want to wait a while and see what Manchester United do.
Anselmino has a US$25m release clause and that’s how much Boca Juniors would initially like to sell him for, but they wouldn’t ignore the big offers, especially because he only has ten appearances for the first team so far.
