Nottingham Forest are the latest club to ‘arrive’ at the scene to sign Lyon’s Lucas Paquetá.
That’s according to Media Foot, who state the Tricky Trees ‘want’ the attacking midfielder.
The Ligue 1 side rejected a €40m bid for the player in the winter market. West Ham United came forward with a €50m offer for the Brazil international on Wednesday.
The player isn’t against a move to London. For now, the file doesn’t move forward with West Ham, which has allowed Nottingham Forest to come into the picture.
Having already spent big on several new signings in this summer, Steve Cooper’s side could still make an approach for the South American.
If Lyon were to receive an offer in excess of €50m and Paquetá is open to a move, then a deal can be concluded with Nottingham Forest. Despite them wanting him, Media Foot say there is a ‘little chance’ of the Brazilian accepting a move to Nottingham Forest.
The Premier League side have already added two attacking midfielders, Jesse Lingard and Morgan Gibbs-White, to their squad in this window. It wouldn’t make sense for them to invest over €50m to sign a player for the same position.
