Last week, it was reported in Italy that Nottingham Forest are preparing to move for Alexis Saelemaekers in the summer transfer window.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side attempted to sign the Belgian in the winter transfer window, but couldn’t get a deal over the line.

The 25-year-old is currently on loan at AS Roma, having joined from AC Milan last summer.

Corriere dello Sport today report about the situation of the versatile winger and there is some pessimism when it comes to Nottingham Forest’s potential summer approach.

The outlet state Saelemaekers’ agent has had a meeting with AS Roma and the player has ‘not seriously listened’ to any other offers apart from that of the Giallorossi.

He has already purchased a house in Rome and has plans of staying at the club on a permanent basis.

Having said that, there might be some glimmer of hope for Nottingham Forest. Roma have yet to decide their manager for next season, with Massimiliano Allegri and Stefano Pioli candidates to land the role. Saelemaekers’ future can hinge on what the next manager wants, with Pioli having managed the Belgian at Milan.

It’s still a situation to keep an eye on for Forest but for now the Rossoneri loanne isn’t that keen on a transfer to England.
