Nottingham Forest could soon be completing the signings of two Argentine players, according to claims from South America.
TyC Sports journalist Cesar Luis Merlo today writes that the Tricky Trees are working to sign Gonzalo Montiel from Sevilla and Nicola Dominguez from Bologna.
Starting with the La Liga player, it’s claimed that he has ‘advanced negotiations’ to join Nottingham Forest, as he’s looking to leave the Spanish club to have more minutes on the pitch. As for Dominguez, Merlo just says that the player is ‘also close to the English club’.
The most surprising claims here are certainly those about Montiel. Partly because he was actually said to be closer to a move to Fulham.
Reports from the past few days claimed the Whites had opened talks to sign him, and ‘appeared strongly’ to get him signed from Sevilla. Now it seems Nottingham Forest are ready to take the lead.
Regarding Dominguez, the interest isn’t something new. The Italian media had already reported that the club placed an insufficient bid for the midfielder.
Now since Merlo claims the player is ‘close’ to Nottingham Forest, perhaps the Tricky Trees finally met Bologna’s €20m request for the transfer.
