Earlier on Tuesday, we covered reports from the Italian media which claimed Nottingham Forest made a bid for Fiorentina left-back Cristiano Biraghi.
It was claimed the Reds put €6m on the table for the transfer, and were offering the player a salary worth €2.2m per season.
Now we get to see more claims on this pursuit, as journalist Alfredo Pedulla had a word with Passione Fiorentina (via Labaro Viola) regarding the club’s transfer business in the final weeks of the window.
Talking about the interest in Biraghi, he claimed that ‘there is Nottingham Forest’ chasing him, and even though the talks are ‘not in an advanced state’, there’s indeed ‘a hot negotiation’ for the move.
It’s mentioned that the full-back would like to renew his contract with Fiorentina, but the problem is that the Serie A side can’t offer him a big salary, while the Reds can make a ‘superior proposal’.
“Who earns over 2 million in Fiorentina? Jovic and maybe Milenkovic… Nottingham could easily give Biraghi 2 million,” said Pedulla.
For now, the journalist didn’t seem to have any information on the transfer fee being discussed between clubs, being more focused on the player’s contract situation.
