Nottingham Forest have been involved in talks in Brazil about a possible return for Jair Cunha, but the centre-back’s focus remains on staying in the Premier League, according to Globo Esporte.

From Nottingham Forest’s side, the picture is familiar. Jair Cunha is still finding his feet in England and has played only two official matches since arriving from Botafogo.

Recently, he has even dropped out of match-day squads. His last appearance on the bench came on December 6th, with Nottingham Forest playing three more games since then.

Back in Brazil, Botafogo discussed the idea of bringing Jair back on loan. The transfer idea came up internally and was even backed by Davide Ancelotti shortly before he left the club. Botafogo have struggled all season with the right-sided centre-back role.

Even so, people close to Jair insist he is comfortable at Nottingham Forest. Despite the lack of minutes, he remains happy and keen to make it in English football, which has always been a personal goal.

There is interest from other clubs, but for now, any change of plans would depend on future offers and Forest’s stance.
