Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Atlético Madrid to sign defender Renan Lodi on loan for the rest of the season.

That’s according to Marca, who provide details on the Brazilian’s potential move to Forest today.

The newspaper back up reports from earlier today that Forest were targeting the left-back, with Atlético open to a loan deal despite rejecting moves earlier this summer.

They explain that Lodi took part in training with the Spanish side this morning, but it is likely to be his last as negotiations between Nottingham Forest and Atlético ‘have already been sealed.’

The deal will be a loan until the end of the season for €5m with an option to buy, set at €30m, included for Steve Cooper’s.

The deal is now dependent on Lodi reaching an agreement with the Tricky Trees on personal terms, but there is no suggestion he will not be able to do so.

In fact, the newspaper says it would take ‘unexpected complications’ for that not to happen and the deal could be finalised either today or tomorrow.

Atlético had been reluctant to let Lodi go this summer, but Diego Simeone was unable to guarantee him playing time ahead of the World Cup and the deal they’ve secured with Nottingham Forest is seen as an ‘advantageous operation’ for all parties.
