Earlier this year, we covered claims from the Dutch press that Manchester United could be an option for Ajax’s Brian Brobbey.
Erik ten Hag managed the striker at the Eredivisie side and tried bringing him to Old Trafford in 2022. This was revealed by the player himself but he decided to continue at the Dutch club.
Back in February, journalist Mike Verweij said Manchester United continue to follow the 22-year-old and he could leave Ajax in the summer window.
The Netherlands international is publicly flirting with the Red Devils, and Arsenal for that matter, after talking about the possibility of making a switch to Manchester United. Speaking to NOS Jeugdjournaal, relayed by Soccer News, he was asked about his dream club.
When responding to that, he said: “Arsenal, I think that is a very nice club. If you look at that stadium. A very nice club, but that also applies to Manchester United, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.”
Brobbey has been flirting with Manchester United for the past few weeks. On 19th April, the Dutchman said he’s open to joining the Premier League side, and has now again he’d be happy with a switch to Old Trafford.
A potential move to Manchester United in the next window could depend on whether or not Ten Hag will continue at the club. The Red Devils finished eighth in the table and will not play in Europe next season if they fail to beat Manchester City in this season’s FA Cup final.
