Salernitana sporting director Morgan De Sanctis has identified Leeds United’s Leo Hjelde as one of his targets this summer.
On August 11th, Cronache Salerno stated the Serie A side continue to chase the left-back and developments are expected with regards to this deal.
Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Italia, relayed by Tutto Cagliari, that De Sanctis will soon focus on signing the Leeds player after carrying out deals for Trivante Stewart, Mateusz Łęgowski and Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi.
“After these three signings, sporting director De Sanctis and his collaborators have no intention of stopping: the next few will in fact be decisive days for a series of other potential signings. The names are those of San Lorenzo’s Agustín Martegani, Leeds’ Hjelde, Soulé and Gonzalez from Juventus,” he said.
That’s all Di Marzio has to say about the Whites fullback potentially moving to the Italian club.
Calciomercato.it also state De Sanctis is working on carrying out seven signings in the next few days, including that of the 19-year-old.
It’s claimed the negotiation with Leeds for Norway U21 international is ‘being defined’ for a loan deal with the right to buy. Hjelde is expected to provide cover for first-choice left-back Domagoj Bradarić at Salernitana.
The Norwegian has made two appearances this season for Daniel Farke’s side.
