Newcastle United have been linked with a multitude of players this summer, with the Magpies looking to strengthen but not overspend on players.
The arrival of Paul Mitchell should help in that regard, with the talent spotter known for being able to spot young players who have room left to develop.
Gianluca Di Marzio now reports Newcastle United have ‘returned heavily’ for Malick Thiaw, having been keen on the 22-year-old earlier this year.
Despite the interest being longstanding, it’s stated the AC Milan player is ‘very much liked’ by Mitchell.
As it stands there’s been no offer sent to the Rossoneri from the Magpies, although there’s an insistence they’re ‘very interested’ in securing the young defender.
Thiaw made 30 appearances for Milan last season, with most of those coming as a starter in central defence. He has a contract with AC Milan lasting until June 2027, so unfortunately no price pressure can be put on in that regard.
Gianluca Di Marzio doesn’t mention how much Newcastle United would be prepared to pay for the player or how much AC Milan would want.
