Cagliari’s Nahitan Nández has ended up in the sights of Newcastle United.

The midfielder, who was keen to leave the Serie A side last summer, couldn’t get the move he had long desired. He is still determined to make a switch elsewhere in January.

According to Tuttosport, the 26-year-old ‘still dreams’ of making a switch to Inter Milan, even though he has also been open to joining Torino for some time.

Torino’s Daniele Baselli moving to Cagliari could be decisive in them bringing Nández to the Turin club. However, ‘everyone is still playing their game’, 10 days before the end of the winter market.

The report also explains Torino face threats from Napoli and the Tyneside club. It’s claimed Luciano Spalletti’s side ‘returned to buzz around the player’.

The Magpies, on the other hand, now seem like a ‘new entry’ in the chase for Nández, after initially making contact a few weeks ago.

Tuttosport say the ‘real problem’ is the difference in economic assessments, but there is no mention of any figures demanded by Cagliari or the fee any of the South American’s suitors are willing to offer.
