Newcastle United have emerged as a suitor for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Leandro Trossard if reports are to be believed.

The forward joined the Seagulls from Genk in 2019 and signed a four-deal. Since then, he has managed 18 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, out of which eight goals and three assists came during the last season.

Trossard has a year left on his contract at The Amex and has not signed a new deal at Brighton. This, coupled with his performances for Graham Potter’s side makes him a ‘very interesting’ option in the transfer market for teams such as Newcastle.

That’s according to RTBF, via Voetbalkrant, who state the Belgium international is wanted by Premier League sides.

When providing details, they mention Newcastle as the Magpies are ‘interested’ in the 27-year-old, but that’s all they have to say about Eddie Howe’s side .

Back in March, Trossard revealed he is willing to listen to offers that he will receive this summer, even though he is currently at a “very good club”.

As it stands, the summer transfer window will be the last chance for Brighton to earn from the Belgian’s sale since his deal runs down in 2023.
