For the past few weeks, multiple reports have pushed forward Newcastle United as one of the clubs interested in Real Valladolid’s Iván Fresneda.

The 18-year-old made his first team debut last January and, when available for selection, has been a regular for the La Liga side this season.

As well as Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are credited with interest in the right-back.

On Wednesday, Valladolid manager Pacheta advised the Spain U19 international’s suitors not to hesitate to make an offer. It now seems like the Magpies have taken his advice seriously.

Spanish journalist Guillermo Rai took to Twitter to state the fullback expects an offer from Newcastle in the ‘next few days’. Fresneda has a €30m release clause, but the Tyneside club’s proposal should be between €10m and €15m.

Rai further claims the defender’s agent met with Newcastle chief scout Steve Nickson a few days ago and the English club’s official is ‘seriously contemplating’ signing Fresneda.

The player has also received interest from five other English clubs, but the details of those clubs are not mentioned by Rai.
