Two days ago, Calciomercato explained Antonio Conte has asked Tottenham Hotspur to bolster his midfield in the winter market.

Later that day, La Repubblica reported Conte has identified Barcelona’s Franck Kessié as his favourite target.

The midfielder has six starts this season out of which two were in the league. He is not important for the La Liga side and there are clubs who are aware of the 26-year-old’s situation at the Camp Nou.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who state the Ivory Coast international’s agent is looking for a new club for his client. Tottenham and Inter Milan are the two clubs that want the player in January.

Conte knows Kessié is a ‘midfielder with full guarantees’, which is why he tried signing him before he agreed to join Barca as a free agent last summer.

The player has not convinced Xavi Hernández and his struggles at Barca have opened the door for the Italian to make a fresh approach to sign him. It’s claimed Conte has ‘made a move’ for Tottenham to sign Kessié in the current window.

Spurs are looking for a new midfielder and Kessié has ‘all the conditions’ Conte wants.
