Newcastle United are one of the clubs chasing Eintracht Frankfurt star Jesper Lindstrøm, according to Ekstra Bladet.
The attacking midfielder has impressed since he arrived at the Bundesliga side from Brøndby in 2021. This season, he’s managed nine goals and four assists from 31 games.
Despite being sidelined with an ankle injury over the last month, the 23-year-old continues to generate ‘massive interest’ from Newcastle and other clubs.
The Denmark international’s suitors include the Magpies, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Inter Milan and Napoli.
Both the player and Eintracht Frankfurt seem to be eyeing up a transfer in the summer as the report states there’s ‘no doubt’ he will leave the German club.
Ekstra Bladet points out the German club are set up in such a way that they couldn’t say no to his sale if they receive a convincing offer.
His asking price is around €35-40m and it could rise to €50-55m, if there’s a bidding war for the player’s signature.
With an exit on cards, Lindstrøm is in line to earn his ‘next big contract’ at a new club.
It needs to be seen whether he will receive the ‘big contract’ from Newcastle or another club.
