Back in June, following an impressive season Kristjan Asllani had just had with Empoli, we saw Newcastle United having an interest in his signing.
It was written by the Italian media that the Magpies were working to land him in the summer, and even requested a meeting to get the transfer done.
The problem, however, had always been that Inter Milan were the favourites to win that race for Asllani, and the Nerazzurri indeed did that, snatching him on a loan with obligatory buying clause, leaving Newcastle empty-handed.
It turns out that things haven’t been going great for the player there, with him only getting 180 minutes on the pitch this season.
As reported by Tutto Mercato Web today, he’s ‘not happy’ with being benched and ‘will ask’ for a move in January to play more.
The story claims it’s ‘not known’ whether Inter Milan will accept letting him go at this stage, but in case Newcastle are still interested in getting the player, this sounds like a good time to get in touch with the Nerazzurri and try to find a deal which makes it good for all parties involved.
