On September 13th, Chivas legend Omar Bravo urged Raúl Jiménez to consider leaving Fulham to ensure he’s part of Mexico’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Bravo didn’t seem to be pleased with the striker’s limited role under Marco Silva. Since then, the 33-year-old has started two league games for Fulham, scoring two goals in the process.

According to AS in Mexico, the Fulham player could be in contention to return to the national team in October.

Jiménez’s last appearance for El Tri was against Honduras in November 2023. Jaime Lozano didn’t consider the former Wolverhampton Wanderers man for most part of his tenure. He was replaced by Javier Aguirre in July.

The Fulham frontman didn’t receive a call up from Aguirre earlier this month, but the manager will be without Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez for the upcoming international breaks.

His injury setback ‘will have implications’. AS claim this ‘opens door’ for Jiménez to return to the Mexico squad for October’s fixtures.

Jiménez has scored three goals for Fulham this season. The report says he’s having a ‘great time’ with Silva’s side and is an ‘ideal candidate’ to replace the Feyenoord star in Aguirre’s squad.

The Fulham player will be waiting to receive a call from the national team manager.
