Twente have not yet given up on their hopes of signing Facundo Pellistri from Manchester United, with speculation a private flight booked in today could be taking him to the Netherlands.

That’s according to Twente Fans, who say Twente are ‘still looking for new players’ before Friday’s transfer deadline and have ‘long focused’ on Pellistri.

At first a deal for the winger did not seem ‘feasible’ because Manchester United needed him in Erik ten Hag’s squad.

That has very much been the tone of reports over the last week or so, despite claims earlier this month that Ten Hag had recommended Pellistri move to his former club.

Twente Fans, though, state that while a move is seemingly unlikely, ‘you never know’ when it comes to the end of the window.

They know that a private jet from Manchester is set to land at Twente Airport on Thursday evening, and it remains to be seen who is on it. There is every chance it could be the Manchester United man if things go in Twente’s favour.

It’s all up in the air but with Pellistri not really a regular for Ten Hag, there is a belief in the Netherlands that there could be some late movement and it’s a situation to keep an eye on.
