Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola today shares some news on the future of Southampton defender Lyanco.

The player is currently enjoying a loan spell at Al-Gharafa SC, in Qatar, and still has a contract with the Saints running until 2025.

According to Nicola, Lyanco has decided against a return to Southampton, and should be listening to offers this summer.

Two Brazilian clubs are said to be interested in his signing. Those are not named, although it’s said one is from São Paulo and another from Rio de Janeiro.

Al-Gharafa are also claimed to be interested in keeping him from Southampton. The player, however, considers a comeback to Brazil to be a better option.

It then remains to be seen if the South American clubs would have the financial conditions to find an agreement with him and the Saints.

Lyanco is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €3m. Since he’s entering his final year of contract with Southampton and both he and the club don’t seem to have any plans together, it would be no surprise if they let him go for something close to zero.
