On Wednesday, Corriere dello Sport reported Napoli are keeping a close eye on Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez, with him being seen as a key option for their attack.

Now, it seems as if the move is accelerating and the Naples club are also looking to take Federico Chiesa.

La Repubblica report the two Liverpool players are ‘solid targets’ for the summer and there have been frequent contacts between the two clubs. The newspaper state Antonio Conte is especially ‘crazy’ about signing the Uruguayan, and Chiesa will only be a part of a larger deal.

The report states ‘negotiations have already’ started with Liverpool, who do not seem to be against the idea of letting the duo depart.

There is also confidence that some progress has been made and Napoli are increasingly close to signing the two players.

La Repubblica may be getting a little bit too optimistic on Napoli’s behalf, which is something which can often happen when it’s Serie A clubs signing player from the Premier League.
