Udinese’s Destiny Udogie is said to be close to joining Tottenham Hotspur, according to claims coming out of Italy.
On Saturday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported the 19-year-old will travel to London on Monday to carry out a medical with Spurs.
Reports elsewhere suggested the left wing-back will be not be included in the squad to face AC Milan yesterday. The Serie A winners sealed a 4-2 victory over the Friulani at the San Siro.
After the game, Udinese manager Andrea Sottil stressed the Italy U21 international didn’t feature against Milan due to muscle issues and not due to the claims of his impending medical with the north London club.
“He fights with this annoyance and we have decided not to summon him,” the coach was quoted as saying by today’s Gazzetta dello Sport.
The newspaper then explains Udogie’s future is ‘worrying’ because the ‘negotiation with Tottenham is at stake’, especially after Antonio Conte’s side put €25m offer on the plate. The Premier League club could also leave the player at Udinese on loan for one season.
With claims Spurs are keen to sign Udogie, his manager discussed the possibility of losing the player this summer.
“There is the club that manages the market. If he is available, I will train him, if he will go elsewhere, he will go elsewhere,” Sottil stressed.
