Kai Havertz is believed to be one of the players who can leave Chelsea this summer, as the Blues look to bring in money to fund their spending.
Chelsea paid big bucks to sign the Germany international from Bayer Leverkusen and there were huge hopes attached to the transfer. His potential hasn’t been fully fulfilled and it’s accepted the Premier League club will struggle to get anything even close to what they paid out.
Fortunately for Havertz, there’s interest from Real Madrid, which is quite some reward for failing to be as much of a star at Chelsea a as expected.
SportBild say Chelsea are asking for €80m, but Real Madrid don’t want to pay more than €50-55m.
According to the German outlet, the ‘negotiation hammer has been revealed’. They state Havertz is putting pressure on Chelsea by insisting he has no intention of renewing his contract, which expires in 2025.
As transfer pressure goes, that’s not a huge amount, and Chelsea could always look around for other interest and wait. For Havertz, who wants the move to Real Madrid, there appears to be more to lose.
