Liverpool youngster Stefan Bajcetic has his situation with his national team today highlighted by the Spanish media.
With the player not called up for La Roja’s most recent U-19 squad, outlet AS write it’s more like they have ‘bigger plans’ for him.
Bajcetic is therefore expected to be seen part of Spain’s U-21, who are now being coached by Santi Denia, who knows the Liverpool player ‘perfectly’.
The national team’s intention is also to make sure that Bajcetic continues to play for his country, since his Serbian heritage could perhaps make him change his mind.
It’s claimed that the player himself has already told the federation that he’s committed to La Roja, but making better use of him is a way to show their faith in the player as well.
AS highlights the fact that despite being only 18, the midfielder is already getting important playing time at Liverpool, where he featured in Champions League games this season.
This means there’s now big expectation about what he can show for Spain, who are playing the U21 Euros this year and could have Bajcetic in the squad.
