Earlier today, we covered claims from the Italian media which stated Manchester United have joined AC Milan in the chase for Youssouf Fofana. It was also reported AS Monaco are annoyed with the Serie A side’s delay and could open talks with the Red Devils.

Gazzetta dello Sport backs up Manchester United arriving at the scene for the midfielder and also talks about West Ham United’s attempts to sign him.

It’s claimed West Ham have already made an approach, but it was rejected by the player because he wants to join Milan.

Gazzetta state the player wouldn’t be able to turn down Manchester United in the same, and are therefore more serious competition.

Monaco seem to have increased their demand after West Ham showed interest and may continue to maintain the same stance after Erik ten Hag’s side entered the picture.

At this moment in time, the Rossoneri haven’t given up on the France international, while the newspaper also states they have no intention of improving their offer beyond €15m.

Gazzetta indicate Manchester United are likely to have a better chance than West Ham to sign Fofana. They will have a better chance of securing this deal if they can convince the player and Monaco.
