That’s because of the former Southampton man’s salary, as he earns in excess of €15m net per season with the La Liga side.

To sum it up, the La Liga winners want to get rid of Bale and Mourinho’s desire to sign Bale for Tottenham is ‘real’. However, the player’s high salary puts him out of reach for Spurs and almost every other club in Europe.
