Jose Mourinho is already getting ready for his new job at AS Roma, starting to build a backroom staff which can support him with the Serie A club.

Il Messaggero report that he’s using his Chelsea connections to help, and has been in contact with one of his lesser known signings at Stamford Bridge.

Marco Amelia moved to Chelsea in October 2015, not long after Mourinho had started his second spell in charge of the Blues. The goalkeeper was signed on a free transfer to be a squad option, and wasn’t able to contribute on the pitch.

Mourinho was shown the door at Chelsea the following December, and Amelia released when his one-season contract expired.

Despite their short time together at the Premier League club, it would appear the pair got along well, with it being reported Mourinho feels Amelia will be able to help him at Roma as a coaching assistant.

The 39-year-old is from the Rome area, and went through the youth system at Roma, so can give the manager some insight and support.
